We found this pastry vendor at the La Jolla Open Aire Market on Sunday. Ashley, the baker/owner, was there and she was so kind. There were a variety of pastries that were available. I wanted something sweet but friend opted for the ham/cheese croissant which he enjoyed quite a bit. It was $4. I bought a large chocolate & almond croissant that couldn't have looked more scrumptious or beautiful. Ashley says there's about a handful of chocolate chips inside the croissant. I believe it was about $4 for this pastry. The croissant was nice but I think there was almond paste inside the croissant which I personally don't like. Next time I'll see if there's a regular ol' chocolate croissant. I can't wait to return to try out more items. The chocolate dipped macaroons or their magic bar (7 layers?) are on my list to try the next time I visit this farmers market!

They make the most delicious pastries you'll find, no contest. From tartes to macaroons to chocolate brownies, everything Petite Astorias makes is outstanding. The proprietor (Ashley) is so warm and friendly, and she takes the greatest pride in her work. After chatting with her, it turns out that she has extensive training in Paris! I cannot speak more highly for the quality and customer service. Next on my list to try is the ham and cheese croissant.

The ice cream is creamy and dreamy, the macaroons are light and airy, the cake is fluffy and moist. The fruit tartlets are delicious little works of art, with the perfect amount of buttery crust around a delicious cream filling. You can't go wrong with the white chocolate cranberry cookies and cannolis too. There are so many delicious choices! I love the beauty, elegance, creativity and options!!! The special holiday selections are always fun. Impressive edible pieces of Heaven!

Delicious baked goods!! Fast service! Quality ingredients!! Professional presentation! What more could I ask for in a bakery! Everything I've had (which as been quite a bit tbh) is always fresh and yummy! I LOVE supporting this business not only for the reasons above, but the person behind the apron is one of the most loving, kind and considerate people you would ever me. Ashley always goes above and begin to deliver an amazing experience to her customers and you never feel like you're just a transaction. My husband is severely allergic to some nuts, and we know we can literally trust her with his life. She's so responsible and aware to avoid cross -contamination and in one instance where she wasn't sure, she was completely honest and didn't even allow him to try it. I have the utmost respect for someone who takes this much pride in her work. It is truly a calling.
